British Long Distance Swimming Association - provides information about open water training, competitions and leisure swimming activities.

British Swimming - is the governing body in the UK for all aquatic disciplines.
 
British Triathlon Association - is responsible for Great Britain Elite, Age Group Teams, British and International events, Anti-Doping and International Representation.

English School’s Swimming Association - co-ordinates school aquatics at county, divisional and national competitions.

Institute of Swimming - provides support services and continuous professional development for teachers, coaches and other swimming professionals.

National Swimming League - formerly the Speedo League, this is a national inter club competition.

Disability

British Blind Sport - charity enables visually impaired people to have the same opportunities as sighted people to access and enjoy sport and recreational activities in the UK.

British Wheelchair Sports Foundation
- provides accessible facilities at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the “home of Wheelchair Sport” including a Sports Hall, Indoor Bowls Centre, Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre.

Cerebral Palsy Sport (CP Sport) - promotes and seeks to increase sport and physical recreational opportunities for people with a disability and especially those who have cerebral palsy.
 
Disability Sport Events - create participation opportunities for disabled people with all impairments.

English Federation of Disability Sport - is the national body responsible for developing sport for disabled people in England.

Gateway - is the leisure arm of the largest disability charity in the: UK-Mencap Royal Society.

Parasport - is a joint initiative between the British Paralympic Association (BPA) and the professional services firm Deloitte. The project will improve how talented sports people at community level are identified and supported, with the aim of increasing participation levels in competitive sporting events.
 
Special Olympics UK - is the country’s largest provider of a year-round sports training and competition programme for all people with learning disabilities.

Commonwealth Games Federation - is the organisation responsible for the direction and control of the Commonwealth Games.

Institute of Sport and Recreational Management - is the professional body for those involved exclusively in providing, managing, operating and developing sport and recreation services in the UK.

Sports Coach UK - the lead agency for development of the UK Coaching System.

Sport England - creates opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play sport in every community and is responsible for funding in line with government objectives and targets.

Sport and Recreation Alliance - is the national alliance of governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation in the UK..  

UK Sport - works in partnership with the home country sports councils and other agencies to lead sport in the UK to world-class success.

 

Funding

Awards for All - provides financial support through grants of between £300 and £10,000 to fund a specific project or activity.
 
National Lottery Good Causes - distributes funding from the National Lottery to 14 organisations including Sport England and UK Sport.
 
SportsAid - focuses on giving grants to young people aged 12 to 18, from 50 able-bodied and 25 disability sports.

The Youth Opportunity Fund - provide discrete revenue and capital budgets for young people to control and decide how money should be spent on positive activities and youth facilities in their area.

 

Volunteering

Community Matters - is the nationwide federation for community associations and similar organisations with a key role in promoting and supporting action by ordinary people in response to social, educational and recreational need.

Health and Safety Executive - provides a central resource for all aspects of health and safety.

National Council for Voluntary Organisation - is a national charity giving voice and support to voluntary and community organisation.

Volunteering England - works strategically across the voluntary, public and private sectors to raise the profile of volunteering as a powerful force for change. Also provides support systems to assist anyone involved with volunteers.
