Swimming Trust

Our Programmes

The Swimming Trust has two distinct areas of activity; supporting talented athletes and enabling people to enjoy the benefits of swimming. Our current portfolio of programmes reflects the requests we receive, research undertaken and levels of funding available.

Supporting and developing talent
Funding for this programme normally comes from general fundraising, private donations and legacies.

Enabling more people to benefit from swimming
The scope of these programmes reflects the funding available and the specific objectives of funding providers. The following are examples of some of our programmes.

Coca Cola Swimming Teacher and Coaching programme
Coca-Cola Great Britain is supporting the training of over 120 new swimming teachers and coaches as part of its commitment to get people active on the road to 2012.

Support for this programme comes through Coca Cola's corporate social responsibility fund

Milton Keynes swimming development programme
Our project in Milton Keynes will reach young people aged 16 to 24, who might otherwise not have the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised swimming teaching qualifications.

The aim of the project is to encourage young people to support their swimming club or local organisation and encourage a career path in swimming by providing access to nationally recognised qualifications.

Funding for the project has been generously provided through a partnership including the Milton Keynes Community Foundation, O2 - 'Its your Community' and the John Lewes Partnership.

Ex-services swimming participation programme
A national project for two groups within the ex-services community, early service leavers and their families.

Funding for this programme has been generously provided by organisations and charitable trusts whose work focuses on current and ex service personnel.

Thames Water programme
A programme operating in the Thames Water region to encourage participation in aquatics.

Funding for this programme has been generously provided by Thames Water.
